Silver and fire; if this sounds like a fun combo to you, then don't miss this class! Students will learn the basics of silver soldering. And even if you are a little nervous around fire...don't worry; the torches are small and very controllable. Learn
to make your own jumprings and then solder them together. After that
students will have the option to add a fantastic hammered texture. Discussions on workspace set up, tools, materials, safety, and technique will be covered. Students will create about an 8 inch piece of chain. After class students can incorporate their chain into their jewelry designs, or attatch a toggle for a fantastic bracelet.
All the supplies (except the silver wire) and tools will be
provided for each student to use during class.
Please note that this class is intended to teach you to make your own chain; giving your jewelry a "one of a kind" custome look. We will not be covering how to repair or make jewelry with set stones and crystals.
