Terminology: Silver Plated: Nickel or Brass bead or finding with a thin coating of Sterling. This coating can rub off after awhile.

Tarnish: Dirt and oil covering Sterling making the silver dull. This is just dirt that can be removed using a polishing cloth.

Bali Silver vs. Sterling: Products with a .925 stamp on it means that it was regulated by the USA. If you were to separate out the ingredients that compose that bead, it has to have 92.5% Sterling silver and .5% Nickel or Brass. Bali silver is made in Bali and hand made. Bali products have to be close to the 92.5% Sterling. One isn't better than another; they just have different designs.
